Cleared

Cleared for left hip replacement on Friday. Glad and worried at the same time. Some days can barely stand up and others are fine. Know it needs it so…… Other hip also but not as urgent.

Friday is the day…maybe

Friday is hip #1…..maybe. At my preop thing in Friday, I was in A-flutter. On heart meds but my heart rate was still 99. Have had afib since 2018 and the heart rate meds are not completely effective for me anymore. Still have to go to my own doctor on Tuesday for the green light. Fingers crossed. Going to take extra meds and make them do the ekg again. Going to be pissed if this gets postponed.

Lateral

Just found out my surgeon does the replacement with the lateral approach. PT lady said she has been there 11 years and nobody has had a dislocation in that time….🤔 But healing takes longer she says. I have a physically demanding job so not sure how long it will take now. My left hip is next Friday 5/22 and then we may do the right one 8-12 weeks later, depending on a job promotion I am trying for. If I get it, hip #2 will wait a year.
