Belly Button Incision

Hey everybody,

Did anybody's surgeon make your incision by your belly button vertical instead of horizontal?

Every photo I have seen shows it horizontal, but by surgeon did it vertical, into my belly button, and I’m 5 weeks post surgery, and still having sensitivity, odd sensations, and pain all around my belly button. My other 3 incisions I just took the tape/covering to them off and there are no scabs, they look and feel great. My belly button incision I am just having issues with.

I appreciate any feedback!

Thanks!

Tired of being uncomfortable

3 weeks post op and im so uncomfortable. I sit on couch all day and have to move around 100 times a day because I’m so uncomfortable. Sleeping is not fun. I’ve been sleeping with 2 pillows and 2 throw pillows under my feet and legs to lift them up. I tried just sleeping with one pillow and no feet pillows last night and woke up hurting bad. Back to the 2 pillows and 2 feet/leg pillows. I’m trying to sleep on my side, at least my left side and I can’t. My insides hurt and feel like they’re pulling and stretching. I just want to heal and feel better and normal again. Really wondering if I should have got the surgery. Was having horrible pain and pressure before the surgery but this recovery is awful.

Skin on Stomach After Surgery/Removal

Hey everybody!

I’m 3 weeks after surgery after having my Gallbladder out. I am still very uncomfortable and having some pain still. I’ve heard so many say they were fine and pain free and back to normal after 2 or 3 days after surgery so it’s been frustrating. I’m being so careful what I do and how I move, because one little wrong move and I get bad random pains.

My main issue I am having though is, my stomach to the left and on top of my belly button is extremely sensitive, and it feels like glass is being rubbed on it, or like something is burning it. It hurts with me barely touching it and even when my shirt just rubs on it. It’s making me so uncomfortable.

I had my 2 week follow up with the surgeon this past Monday and mentioned it to him, and he said he’s never had anyone complain of what I am experiencing. He mentioned it maybe a nerve issue.

Has anyone experienced this sensation? and if yes, did it ever go away, and after how long? I am so worried it won’t go away. I know I still have about 3 weeks until feeling mostly back to normal, but I’m still a little worried and nervous.

Also, had headaches/pressure in head before surgery, which went away with all the pain meds, but are now back daily. Anybody deal with headaches before, that went away after surgery? If yes and went away, how long after surgery?

Thanks for any input!
