Rode to Hell

It's looking to be a gorgeous weekend and we are hitting record numbers for Rode to Hell. Seeing as how I spend way too much time on Reddit I thought I'd offer everyone a $10 off code (code is simply Reddit). Happy to answer any questions anyone has.

I am working on some cool new stuff for course marking and think we will have over 300+ markers on course, and that doesn't count the paint I put down for each route on the corners. It takes so long to set this course that we actually start two days before the event instead of the day of.

Social Media and Email Marketing

We’re exploring a change in how we handle marketing (mainly socials and email), and I’d love input from anyone who has navigated something similar.

We produce 20+ endurance events each year, including triathlon, multisport, cycling, gravel, and mountain bike events.

The challenge is that we’re not marketing one single brand. We manage multiple event brands, and nearly every event has its own identity, audience, timeline, and voice. Marketing has historically been handled in-house, but we’re now evaluating whether to outsource some or all of that work — social, email, campaign planning, and occasional paid promotion. We did this years ago and were burned by an agency that promised the sun and the stars and delivered nothing.

I’d be grateful for advice from anyone who has outsourced marketing for a seasonal, multi-brand, or event-based business.

What model worked best for you: agency, boutique shop, fractional contractor, or something else?

Any recommendations, cautionary tales, or lessons learned would be appreciated.
