I am planning a brief stop in Allegheny late June and was hoping to find a good car camping/fishing spot. I recently purchased a rooftop tent so my ultimate goal would be to do some light off-roading to a stream or similar waterway that I could camp/fish in relatively close proximity to. Any recommendations, coordinates, or help would be greatly appreciated!
I recently purchased a 2023 Subaru Outback Wilderness and was interested in getting a rooftop tent. I was curious if anyone had any setup recommendations or could educate me on what crossbars are best suited for RTT camping on my vehicle. I've been looking at both Yakima and Thule, but most of the bars seem to have relatively low load capacities or are incompatible. I'm also a bit curious how fitment works for most RTTs. Should I stick to tents that I know are compatible with my vehicle (ie, the Thule RTT they were selling at the dealership), or is it okay to shop around? Any pointers before I throw down so more cash would be great!
