Seeking a Caregiver for my parents
Hi, given the demographics of Prescott I am kind of surprised to not see this topic here already (!)
My parents are in their 80s. I visit several times a year but live far away. It would be ideal if they can stay in their own home as long as possible bc it's a pretty good set up for them (single level, wide hallways, etc). They are doing "ok" but are needing more and more help with daily things and I prefer that they don't drive.
It seems impossible for them to get reliable help at their home. They don't need nursing care (yet) - just someone to run errands a couple of times a week and prepare meals and do some cleaning. It would be ideal though if I can find someone who has experience in healthcare / physical therapy. It's a casual gig type thing - probably 6 - 10 hours / week & I really don't want to pay overhead $ to an agency.
What's the best way to find someone who can help them ? Does everyone just go work for an agency ? I'm guessing there are networks to tap into and i don't know about them (!).
