I bought some 1oz platinum bars last April. I’m interested in selling half of them. I didn’t really do much research, wanted to get my money into a tangible, physical asset and decided on platinum.

I take that back. I did do plenty of research on value and potential value, but didn’t consider liquidity. I went to LCS this weekend, dude wasn’t interested. Says he has no market for platinum.

PMsForSale will surely get commented. I have no transactions, and honestly don’t really trust internet strangers…

Do online dealers like APMEX actually pay a fair price? Trying to see what my options are so I don’t let myself get undercut. Thanks for reading, and thanks for the insight!

Due to a changing of employer bonus structure and new timing of said bonuses, I’ll likely be ineligible for Roth IRA contributions this year. I’ve already put about 3k in this year.

Can I request a return of excess contributions now, or do I need to wait until the end of the tax year?

If I do this, can I then put the funds into a new IRA, then backdoor back into the Roth? I’d like to start doing new contributions via back door next month, but feel like that could make things messy in the same tax year I’ll have excess contributions.

I’ll avoid going on an angry rant how contributing to an IRA then converting immediately is OK, but direct contributions are not… 😡
