Fable uses a bunch of tokens then refuses to answer

If you're going to censor an answer/ response do it before you waste all of my f**** money and tokens please. Having Fable use all of your usage then be like "I'm not going to respond after thinking about this for a while" for some vague half cooked reason is beyond scummy. Wastes my money and then says f**** off.

Why is it so hard for these AI companies to be ethical to their customers.

The Intervention of Governent in AI

Recently with Claude Mythos/Fable and now with GPT 5.6 we're seeing the US government being heavily involved in the release of SOTA AI models.

I'm not sure to what extent this is opted into by AI companies, whether its a marketing move to make them seem more viable to advertisers, large businesses, or if there is genuinely good intent behind it.

I cannot see this as a positive for the average user/consumer. It feels like the best models will now be locked to approved companies/large organizations, and the users that got these AI companies to the point that they're at now are being left behind.

There's a gap growing here and I do not think its good.

Does anyone have a GPT 5.5 Jailbreak?

I've been an Anthropic fanboy/glazer for the past year, largely moved away from OpenAI and GPT, but here lately I've been giving it a go again, and I've been pleasantly surprised. At programming tasks it kicks Opus 4.8's ass, which makes me think that its probably better at writing as well, the only problem is OpenAI's guardrails are insane, and I cannot seem to bust them. I can easily get any form of spicy content out of claude, on any model. But with Gpt 5.5 I have to slowly walk it to NSFW content, then carefully tiptoe around the most vanilla stuff. I cannot get any non/dub out of it, no incest, hell I can't even get legal aged (18-23ish) characters to work because "they are youth adjacent".

If anyone has any workarounds for gpt let me know. (Also all of this seems to be true for the chatgpt web ui as well as the API, guardrails seem the same on both)

Adaptive Reasoning in API is currently providing super poor results on all reasoning levels Jun 22

Anything with adaptive thinking is pretty scuffed. If you put a system message in the API on Opus 4.7 or 4.8 with

"Response length must be 800+ words"

Along with literally any other system instructions it will completely ignore it now. With 4.6 with thinking it would follow this to a T. Honestly adaptive reasoning is the worst thing Anthropic has done in the history of their development in my opinion.

I don't want the AI to "adaptively" decide whether my request requires deeper thinking or not. A lot of seemingly simple requests actually require more intense thinking, and it just decides that it doesn't.

Its one thing to enforce this in the chat/web UI, but enforcing it in the API as well is very frustrating.

NEW Censoring on all Antropic Models/Platforms 6/6/2026

There is a new censoring mechanic showing up on the claude platform, as well as other locations across anthropics services today.

I received a complete refusal on my first message, not even getting a response from a relatively tame message to claude today.

I attempted the same prompt on the console platform and got this on the response which has never occured before.

Update As of right now this is only on Opus 4.7 and 4.8, but seems to be affecting all reasoning levels, and does not change whether the model thinks or not, or if you have adaptive enabled.

I'm not sure if they just put a static word list filter on inputs and completely block responses that contain certain words, or if they have a small dedicated llm analyzing a response before it proceeds. It really feels like its a static word filter because your response can be downright innocent but if a certain word shows up you just get a Model Refusal response.

Why do all LLM companies peak on Version 4. GPT4, Opus/Sonnet 4.

Is this just the point where they start trading actual technical accomplishments for business decisions? GPT 4-4.5 was amazing. Then Anthropic with Sonnet 4 and Opus 4 up to 4.5 were amazing. And with both companies as soon as they went past that their models just became absolute garbage. Anthropic has released complete trash with 4.7 and 4.8, not even to mention the dumpster fire that is Adaptive reasoning. People do NOT want adaptive reasoning, and the thinking effort does not even come close to a replacement for this. What was the whole point of adding reasoning to models if you can't let the user decide when to have it reason. GPT 5 had the exact same problem. The only hope now is that some day Google releases a Gemini 4 and its actually good. They still have room for improvement since their LLM's have always sucked. The only thing they can do right is image generation and OpenAI might have passed them in that area now to with gpt image 2.

Nano Banana Pro No Longer Available in Gemini May 19th

In the past you could click the 3 little dots at the bottom of an image after generation and you could see the option "Redo with Pro" along with the text "generated with Nano Banana 2". Now as of today/maybe yesterday evening, the "Redo With Pro" option is completely gone. Not sure if this has something to do with Google IO and their announcement of Gemini 3.5 and them trying to distance themselves from the more expensive model and force people to use the inferior Nano Banana 2 model...
