I'm in central California. To my joy, a big western toad moved in near my small garden pond. I didn't see it often, not sure where it was hiding. Probably under a bush or stone. I found its carcass. Probably a raccoon got it, though it may have been a cat. I'm wondering about two things. First, how to attract another one. Second, how to provide it with some kind of shelter that will attract it and help it hide safely from the next raccoon.

This is the season for the spring concert, at least among community choirs. We did ours a few days ago. Audience turnout was disappointing, less than usual, despite a focused marketing campaign. I suspect this reflected the national mood more than the quality of our singing. Help me out with a reality check. How was audience size for your choir, this spring?
