White Screen - iPod Video 5th - Screen is not the problem?

my iPod goes in to a white screen most of the time. I read multiple times, that it should be a problem with the display itself or the display connector. However im confident, that this is not the case here. Here is why:
- Sometimes when I use Reset Mode, it directly works again.
- Sometimes when I use Disk Mode, it works again.
- Sometimes when I have it connected to my computer it works again.
- The problem doesn't go along with vibrations or something like that.
- When the screen is white, the whole iPod is frozen, none of the controls work anymore.
Thats why a display or display connector problem should be ruled out, I think?
If it goes in to the white screen, it stays that way until the battery is empty. Sometimes the iPod stops working in the middle of playing an album. Sometimes, when the iPod is playing music, the screen suddenly shows wrong things, like the items on the display are missplaced or frozen. Then it goes in to the white screen again. Also the problem didn't appear instantly, it rather grew over the period of 2 months. Now im in a state, where I cant get it out of the white screen anymore at all.
I modded it with an iFlash-Solo, 128 gb SD Card, and a new battery. However, I think the battery was of a bad quality.
Could the battery be the problem? Or might it be the main board? 🥲🤔
