Time to move on

I’m not sure if I should be upset at the process or more upset at my recruiter who has been terrible over the past 5-6 months. *Long sigh* I’ll try and make this quick. Process started back mid Feb as I applied for a non tech role in the US. Passed everything and even had an onsite Team Match on June 5th… Recruiter got back w/ me July 13th and said the req was being pulled down due to head count but they’d repost it and expect to get a call a couple weeks after the new req goes up. Recruiter reaches back out on Aug 3rd and says “Good morning, I would encourage you to apply to the role and I can see if I can get more information for you” the exact EMAIL. (I just copied and pasted) fast forward I applied and was thinking to myself why should I if I completed everything already…. Only to check my app status today. So around 3ish app status said assessment passed.. then around 10pm it said not proceeding… lol.. My recruiter has been completely useless this entire time. Very little information has been shared throughout my entire process. Hell he didn’t know I had a team match being the Admin from the site reached out to me.. and my very last thought on this is if I was the guy so to speak then why would I have to reapply to said new requisition? However I still never got a formal you are not the guy from my recruiter just a let me find more info and apply to new requisition to be safe… smh. Long story less long. I truly believe my time for wanting to be a part of Google has come to an end. Good luck to those that are still in the race.

Google info

SHOULD I KEEP HOPE ALIVE OR MOVE ON… I made it through the full loop for a BPM role at a Google data center site. (US) interviews, followed by an in-person team fit/site visit where I met with peers and site lead directly. Everything on my end felt strong, including informal positive feedback from two of the three interviewers.

After the team fit, I didn’t hear anything for about a month. My recruiter was out on leave with no one covering for him. When he got back, he told me the req had been cancelled due to internal realignment (not performance-related), that it would be reposted in 2-3 weeks, and that I would NOT need to redo any interviews or the team fit just wait to hear from him with next steps once it reopens.

Has anyone actually had this play out? Specifically:

- Did the req actually reopen in the timeframe given?
- Did you get slotted back in without re-interviewing like they said, or did the process restart anyway?
- Any signs it was really over and they just didn’t want to say so directly?

Trying to figure out if this is worth staying hopeful about or if I should treat it as a dead end and move on completely. Appreciate any real experiences.

UPDATE: The req was reposted about 7 days ago

Google recruiter went missing

I had an on- site TM back on June 5th, which was a Friday… on-site Admin had called me the Tuesday before and asked me if I was available Friday. I reached out to the recruiter on Thursday and spoke to said person and they assured me they would get with me the following week. Well here is June 29th and no response. I’ve called and sent an email and nothing. Now 2 weeks ago I did get an auto response stating that the recruiter was out for a week. Also, I never heard from my recruiter regarding my interview or anything. Last person I spoke to was the on-site admin and I am questioning do I just wait it out or reach out to admin to see who is covering for my recruiter… This is a short week due to the holiday so maybe if I hear nothing after next week what is the move?

Timeline: US- non tech

Recruiter set up interview in March
Interviewed in April….
Ghosted until Admin reached out for TM on June 5th which when really well. > Almost a month later and haven’t heard anything from anyone…
Recruiter hasn’t responded to any of my attempts…
Lastly: Site Manager wanted to make things happen soon per the TM convo.
