House Helper?
I'm not even sure of the right term for what I'm looking for. Essentially, I want to hire an able bodied person to help me around the house. I have the usual co-morbidities of POTS, chronic fatigue, migraine, etc... I'm falling so behind on house stuff. I used to be able to work for 15-30 minutes and then rest for 30 minutes and get quite a bit done. Now it's maybe 5 minutes of work I can do, especially if it involves bending or reaching.
So I'd be looking for someone who could work beside me and do the lifting and more energy intensive stuff while I do what I can. I have a lot of sorting and organizing stuff that needs to be done. And then stuff like loading/unloading groceries and things to be thrown out or donated.
I wanted to see if some older high school or college student wanted to work for cash over the summer but my husband would prefer someone who was available long term and "who can recognize when you're overdoing it". (He has long covid and was just dx'ed with disautonomia which adds to the fun.)
Has anyone hired a helper like this? I don't even know what term to search for. I don't need a medical aide or just a housekeeper or anything. I just literally need someone to be my functioning body and basic medical awareness in case of emergency.
