Milky Way Timelapse

Hello, this is actually my first post on reddit. I recently moved into a new house and am away from the city lights, I live in a bortle 4-5. I have a Seestar S50 (I know its fake astrophotography). I want to start taking time lapses of the Milky Way and take long exposure shots in general of it. I dont have the money to be able to drop a couple thousand dollars on a good Camera due to my wife and I having a baby soon (our first). i want something small, but also capable, something that after i buy it I wont regret getting something a little more capable. I have been looking at the GoPro Mission 1 Pro, I have read a lot about it, and it seems really good, but also wanted to come onto here and see what everyone else thinks. The most i would spend realistically would be $1500. But I would really like to keep it under $1,000. More towards the GoPro price or less. I appreciate everyones time who comments!!!
