2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid
I’ve had mine for about four months now and something strange is happening (strange to me at least, this is my first hybrid).
I pretty much only drive it to and from work, and the EV mode would kick on during certain parts of the ride regularly due to maintaining lower RPMs. It was consistent enough that I would know when to expect it to turn on and when to expect it to not turn on. My average MOG hovered between 51 and 52 for weeks at a time with a dip down to 50 here and there when I would make longer commutes. But over the last couple of weeks it hasn’t been engaging EV mode nearly as consistently; enough of a change that now my average MPG is 48.8 and I haven’t been doing anything differently on my commute to/from work. Same route, same speed, same amount of time driving. I’ve also noticed that recently the car will randomly rev really high even though my acceleration didn’t change, or I’m not applying acceleration at all like when I’m in a parking lot.
Anyone else run into this problem/know how to resolve it? Thanks in advance.
