Port forwarding
Ok, I have spent weeks attempting to figure this out, perhaps the community can assist.
I am trying to set up port forwarding on my router to allow me to access my Jellyfin service from outside of my network. I thought I could so this by doing the following:
Create a port forwarding rule on my Asus RT-AX5400 router.
I created the rule so that it takes any traffic from my cell phone's IP address, and forwards it to the appropriate IP:port on my internal network.
It doesn't work, it just times out. I have tried using my phone, my tablet tethered to my phone, as well as a pc on another network.
Gemini states that I need to set the internal and external ports of the port forwarding rule to 8096, but it doesn't seem to matter regardless of the external port specified (and used) nothing ever loads.
