Local Art

I’m looking for art for my house and would love to support local artists. I unfortunately cannot spend $1000s of dollars, $100s is more realistic. Where is the best place to look? Any artists on Reddit that have a website?

Green Tile for Backsplash -

My vision for my kitchen is light with earthy undertones. The first picture is my current kitchen (white), the next picture is my imperfect AI rendering. We are doing custom wood cabinets, I am leaning towards a Taj Mahal quartzite (3rd pic) or white quartz with brown/green light veining. The cabinets will go to the ceiling and we will be adding a hood range with the backsplash extending to the ceiling as the focal point. The floors will stay as is. I am having the hardest time finding a green tile that I like. I want something that is earthy but not not to dark. Ideally, I want it to have warm undertones rather than grey. Green is so popular right now (I loved it before it became trendy) but I can't seem to find anything that I like.

The tile in the AI rendering is too bright and I don't love how distinct the variation is among the tile colors. The tile I liked the most is the 4th picture which is a matte mossy green. It is coming across grey in the picture but it has yellower undertones. I liked the crackle detail on the next tile but I think it is too bright. The 6th photo is to give a comparison of the green options I am considering right now. The glossy tile on the left is a truly grey green to compare to the matte one.

Will the green matte option work or keep looking?

  1. I would love to see green tile backsplashes that people have in their homes that fit my vision. Especially if you have the name/manufacturer.

  2. Provide other options that I am overlooking.

  3. I am also going back and forth between doing normal subway arrangement or a herringbone pattern to make the area behind the hood more interesting.

Open to any other suggestions.
