Use compression garments/faja!!!

Hello everyone! I first want to say thank y’all for being so open and brave about sharing your journey’s!! It has truly been a guiding light for me as I began my own. I lost 100lbs a few years ago and I am now five weeks post op from an ex tt with muscle repair! I saw a lot of discussion about whether or not to use compression and then if so, how tight!

Speaking from my personal experience, I say use medium to light compression and after about 4 weeks, really launch into a tight compression/faja garment!! And by tight, I mean TIGHT. You should just be able to breathe in it! I recently made the switch to a more aggressive compression approach and it COMPLETELY changed how my body looked! It really took the swelling down and has allowed me to see what my results are, and after about 16 hours your body adjusts to the tightness. I recommend getting one with a corset built in that has a few rows of clasps beneath the zipper so when you sleep or eat, undo the zipper and have a bit more room to eat and breathe while maintaining the compression that the corset offers. Only take it off for the shower and manually practice taking deep breaths in it so that your body gets used to expanding under the compression and it can push back against it as your body takes its new shape. Happy recovering everyone!!

Edit: This is my experience as someone whose doctor didn’t have much to say about compression versus no compression once out of the binder that they initially put you in. I really hated the binder and did it for about three days before I switched to a light to medium compression vest!

Yes this a Male TT post but one of the garments I use is a female one because the level of compression tends to be more dramatic on them! No matter how you identify, most people want a smaller waist that does the hourglass/V shape in the middle🤭🤷🏽‍♂️
