Seeking Urgent Attorney Referrals – Harris County JP Court (Small Claims)

I am urgently seeking referrals for limited‑scope or flat‑fee civil attorneys who handle JP Court small claims cases involving personal property in Harris County (Precinct 4, Place 1).

I am currently self‑represented and have already completed all filings and documentation for my case, including:
• civil standby documentation with police case number
• sworn statement
• petition for return of personal property
• full exhibits packet (including: vet records, payment records, care documentation, photos, etc.)
• timeline and supporting records
• proof of residency
• demand letter
• application for writ of sequestration (denied)

My trial date is July 29, and I am seeking counsel who can provide limited‑scope assistance, such as:
• file review
• evidence organization
• case preparation
• or flat‑f appearance at trial

I am specifically looking for attorneys who regularly handle unbundled civil work or JP civil matters in the Houston area.

If anyone can recommend attorneys or firms who provide these listed, I would be deeply grateful. Thank you in advance.

Case for Personal Property Conversion Case- Small Claims 29 trial advice

I have everything: I’ve built my case from the ground up..
- civil standby with police case #
- sworn statement
- petition for return of personal property
- exhibits packet (vet records, payments, care, pictures, etc.)
- sequestration application writ denied- Judge admitted to not reading my application before hand and failed due process, disallowing ex-parte hearing and the whole reason I wanted a writ was to prevent my ex from tampering (aka microchipping my dog), which he did last week after his citation was served

Trial is July 29, should I ask for a jury- I don’t believe the judge will act on good faith and also due to the fact that he’s never dealt with a case like this. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you In Need Limited-Scope/Flat-Fee Attorney for Small Claims (JP Court) Pet Conversion Case in Harris County (Precinct 4, Place 1)
I am self-represented and looking to hire an attorney for Consultation, Limited Scope Representation (file review, evidence prepping, and trial strategy) or Appearance for a flat fee for an upcoming Small Claims trial. I have built my case from the ground up with civil standby, police case #, formal demand letter, petition, sworn statements, timeline, proof of residency, payments, vet records, rabies records- everything in my name filed since May 19.

The Case: Suit for wrongful possession of personal property (Civil Conversion) regarding my 7-month-old mixed-breed dog.
My Evidence: I have a historical paper trail: My name is exclusively on the original vet records, rabies certificate, and medical history for the first 7 months of his life. I have proof of residence, a logged police case number from a denied civil standby, and a formal 10-day demand letter.
After receiving my formal demand letter and citation for return of personal property, my ex deliberately took the dog to a brand-new vet clinic last week to get him microchipped in his name to manufacture a fraudulent trail of ownership. He also lied multiple times to the judge and I can prove he is lying.
I recently had a pre-judgment Writ of Sequestration where the judge bluntly said he didn’t look over my application and didn’t grant me an ex-parte hearing then denied it because the judge didn't see "immediate physical danger," and I felt completely overpowered and unheard by the process. Him microchipping him was the EXACT reason I wanted the writ, the judge didn’t even bat an eye at me and I was the plaintiff. I am heartbroken but am remaining determined. I need a local Texas attorney who can help me organize my evidence, turn his last-minute microchipping into proof of bad-faith tampering, and prep me to present a bulletproof case at trial. I’m truly devastated, I went by the book and am at a total loss right now.

Any recommendations for attorneys who do unbundled civil work/JP civil court cases in Houston, or advice from anyone who has successfully won a pet conversion case in Texas, would be deeply appreciated.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you in advance.
