The Sheer Stupidity and Insanity of the Francophone Mobility Program

Greetings folks, I’d like to take some time to talk about this outright bizarre program that pretty much does nothing but harms for Canadians and the people who come via this type of immigration program.

A little introduction of myself, I’m a volunteer for an International LGBTQ organization, that helps with both documented and undocumented LGBTQ people from various countries in Canada, I don’t speak French natively but I speak enough French to be able to communicate with people who got into Canada via this program and who are facing extreme hardship and exploitation because of it.

First, this program is unique among all other visa/immigration program which EXPLICITLY doesn't require English skill at all and is targeted almost exclusively to people who speak French only.

As the result of this, obviously most applicants of this program come from French-speaking African countries such as Cameroon, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritiu etc. All they need to do is pass a French language exam, which of course is easy, since their native language is French, and a job offer of ANY OR NO SKILL at all without any education requirements, this includes washing dishes or even delivery driver, to work anywhere OUTSIDE OF QUEBEC.

YES, you read that right, ANYWHERE OUTSIDE OF THE FRENCH SPEAKING PROVINCE WHERE THEY CAN ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND THE LOCAL LANGUAGE.

So, what in the world does this achieve? Well at best, it produces conflict with local population, since we are importing a huge amount of people who don’t understand English into British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta etc, how do expect these people to integrate into the Canadian society when they DON’T speak the local language?

And the only French speaking province is the only place that they are not allowed to go to!

And use your brain a bit, why are we importing this many French only people into English only provinces, what’s gonna happen when they land here, and they realize that they’ve been lied to, because Canada isn’t that bilingual of a country outside of Quebec and they can’t communicate with anyone.

Where will these people work without the knowledge of local language, well obviously jobs that don’t need them to speak or communicate at all, such kitchen staff, construction and agriculture, all of them low-paying and no skill works because let’s be frank here, what decent job can you get in like Japan or Korea, if you don’t understand or speak the local language?

And think about it, what’s the true purpose of this, of course, because people who can’t speak the local language would be in an extremely vulnerable position WAY MORE than the previous TFWs would be in.

The employers have a WAYYYY easier time threatening them of their status, withholding their wages, and letting them work in absolutely unacceptable conditions because they don’t speak the local language thus they can’t fight back, and they can’t even get helps from organization like ours, because we aren’t equipped to communicate with them, to hear their stories and to tell them that they have been severely exploited and they need to report their situation to the police.

All of these seem to be very convenient, don’t they? Importing such large and vulnerable population into areas where they are fully cut-off from proper society and social help networks?? Right after the government is committed to drastically cut down entries of students and TFWs?

The government is willingly putting these French only workers from frankly the most impoverished region of the world into even worse positions than any of the previous TFW who were already quite exploited, and now they don’t even understand what people are saying around them and they have no ways of getting helps and legal assistance.

They don’t understand the law because they don’t understand the language and just imagine how prone to exploitation and abuse would they be in this situation!? Just what are we doing?

Just how blatant can this government get and how low can we as Canadians sink? This is just insane and morally outrageous. It is bad for Canadians and much much worse for the people coming here on this type of arrangement where they will almost certainly be mistreated.

I'm sorry for how ranty this post is and ik it feels somewhat conspiratorial, but the reality is that, I just genuinely can't find another purpose for this type of program other than intended exploitation upon arrival which is what's happening rn...

[Analysis] In 2030, there may be as many as One Million undocumented in Canada, how do we deal with massive issue

Greetings, I'm a frontline social volunteer. I have provided many assistance to many international Transgender and LGBTQ in general persons in the past. Many of whom have been out of status. I'd like to take some time to hopefully explain just how massive the issue really is and how unprepared we are.

Due to the length of this analysis, I have used an external site to store the text, you'll need to click on the link of the post to read it
