“EVERLASTING” is one of those L’Arc~en~Ciel songs that feels simple at first but becomes more touching with every listen. The gentle instrumentation and beautiful melody create a warm, slightly melancholic atmosphere, while Hyde’s vocals add plenty of emotion without overdoing it.

It has a very natural and heartfelt quality that makes it easy to get lost in. A beautiful, underrated song that deserves more attention.

"memoire" is a fascinating debut that captures MALICE MIZER before they evolved into the grand, baroque-inspired band most fans know today. It's not only their first album, but also the only full-length release to feature Tetsu on vocals, giving it a character unlike anything else in their catalog.

Its raw mix of gothic rock, punk energy, and melodic songwriting makes it the band's only album to fully embrace that particular style. The original 1994 release is also notable for not including "baroque," which was added only on the later "memoire DX" edition.

With just 3,000 copies produced for the first pressing, the original album has become one of the rarest and most desirable MALICE MIZER releases. Having a factory-sealed first press feels like owning a perfectly preserved piece of visual kei history, frozen exactly as fans first experienced it in 1994.

“NOCTURNAL OPERA” is probably the MOI DIX MOIS album I come back to the most. It's incredibly theatrical, but it never feels like style over substance. The riffs are heavy, the melodies stick, and the gothic atmosphere is strong without becoming exhausting.

Mana's songwriting keeps the album moving, with enough variety to make each track memorable while still feeling like part of the same dark world. It's not the easiest album to get into if you're new to gothic metal or visual kei, but once it clicks, it's hard not to appreciate how confidently it commits to its sound. One of the best examples of gothic metal to come out of the visual kei scene.

Beast of Blood is one of those releases that feels less like a typical single and more like a carefully staged gothic vignette, where everything is built around mood, tension, and visual imagination rather than straightforward songwriting. Klaha’s vocal delivery is restrained yet commanding, sitting inside a dense mix of heavy guitars and baroque-inspired arrangements that give the track a cold, aristocratic atmosphere. Instead of developing in a traditional pop or rock arc, it unfolds like a slow-moving scene—stylized, dramatic, and slightly detached.

What is your first thought after hearing this song?

I think this is one of the most experimental and mysterious singles during the late Gackt period, combining gothic rock with electronic elements, dark wave influences, and the band’s signature classical atmosphere.

Moreover the promotional video, which intended to be controversial and shocking to the fans. It was filmed in a "chaotic, frenetic style", featuring violent and erotic themes. It features band members "feasting" on nude bodies of women and being subjected to scientific experiments.

What a time to be alive :)

P.S: Legend said that there's a regular version of this single, with non shiny metallic cover, but much, much, much rare than the one in the picture. What you see is the 1st press limited edition.
