I am a SSN currently working in a public hospital. Applied last month for the same role at another public hospital (closer to home). For the very first time, after being a nurse in Singapore for 10 years, I got a rejection letter.
I thought nurses were needed here????

Edit: So it looks like it’s due to the difference in discipline. If you are not in the same specialty as the role you’ve applied, you are automatically not a candidate unless your name is Indranee Rajah.

Looking to see if there is any possibility of breaking this bond so I can be freebird earlier than planned.

You hereby agree and declare that if:

(a) you shall at any time before the expiration of the Bond Period resign from or terminate your employment or service with the Company and/or any subsidiary, related or associated companies of the Company or otherwise fail or refuse or in the sole opinion of the Company render yourself unable to serve the full term of the Bond Period in accordance with the provisions of the Letter of Employment/ Contract or at all; or

(b) your employment or service shall at any time before the expiration of the Bond Period be terminated by the Company and/or any of the subsidiary, related or associated companies of the Company with or without notice given by the Company (including by reason of any dishonesty, misconduct, moral turpitude, insubordination, neglect of duty, criminal offence or misdemeanor, insobriety or incompetence on your part or any breach by you of any of the terms and conditions of the Letter of Employment/ Contract and/ or the Company's employment handbook, rules, policies, procedures and or Singapore law);

then in the event of the happening of any of the above cases) under clause 3.2 of this letter (provided that the Sign-On Bonus or any part of it has been paid to you), you shall be liable to pay to the Company and/or any of the subsidiaries, related or associated companies of the Company, as the case may be, on demand, as and by way of ascertained liquidated damages and not as a penalty, an amount which shall bear the same proportion to the amount of damages of $$$$$$
provided always that:

(i) any resignation or termination by you from or of the service or employ of Company and/or any of the subsidiaries, related or associated companies of the Company shall be deemed to be a resignation or termination by you from or of the service or employ of all of them; and

(ii) any acceptance of any such resignation by you shall not operate nor be deemed to operate
as any waiver of your obligations hereunder or any part thereof.
