I’m Karan Anshuman, a Mumbai-based filmmaker, showrunner, director, writer, producer, and author. Over the last decade, I’ve helped build some of India’s biggest streaming series, including Inside Edge Seasons 1–3 on Prime Video, India’s first series to receive an international Emmy nomination for Best Drama; Mirzapur Season 1, which I co-created; and Rana Naidu Seasons 1–2 on Netflix. I also served as Executive Producer on Andhera, the horror series on Prime Video.

My most recent work is Glory (2026, Netflix), which I co-created, wrote, directed, and produced. It’s a bruising family saga about legacy, resentment, and the damage people inherit from those they love most, set against the world of Indian boxing.

I’m also a producer at Atomic Films, where we’re backing new voices and exploring the future of storytelling at the intersection of creativity and technology.

Before streaming took over my life, I directed the feature film Bangistan and spent three years reviewing films for Mumbai Mirror. I’m also the author of Kashmirnāmā, a high-octane political thriller, and an avid scuba diver.

I’ve spent the last decade making shows about cricket, crime, family, power, masculinity, violence, ambition, and the absurdity of India. I’ve also reviewed films, written a novel, made a movie, raised a child. You can ask me about building long-form series, the chaos of production, criticism, failure, success, the future of entertainment with AI, how parenting affect creativity, scuba diving, or why making anything good is much harder than it looks. AMA.
