Sewing is one of the best frugal skills. A $1 pillowcase turned into curtains.
It's a small bathroom window. The typical retail stores had packs of 3 or more curtain segments that would work with this, usually for $20 or more. I didn't want a valance and usually the actual curtains were still too big.
The curtain rod was $4. Pillowcase was thrifted for $1. About 30 minutes to seam rip and sew it back together. All in all, I would say that it was a pretty successful frugal craft.
