The Immortal Crumpet
About 22 years ago, my dad discovered this tiny, shrivelled crumpet at the back of the bread bin.
It was already this size when he found it, which is why I kept it.
22 years later, it’s still here. Slightly yellower, perhaps, but otherwise unchanged.
I’ve named it the Immortal Crumpet.
I’m now wondering whether there’s actually a market for ancient, mummified breakfast products. Would anyone buy this? 🤔
