When do you release a Christmas book?

I'm trying to decide the best release date for a Christmas children's story.

Oct 15th, Oct 31, or Nov 12

Oct 15 because the book is ready

Oct 31 so it's out for a November start.

Nov 12 after Remembrance Day / Veterans Day

Anyone have any feedback or a different suggestion?

Question for any local authors

Just curious where you may go for getting books printed. Do you stay local? Use KDP? A different printer elsewhere?

Children's Book Help

I'm just about in the final stage of my book and need some ideas from those who have published children's books.

I first printed a draft run (for my kids) through lulu, but the price point per book is $14.11. Our local bookstore takes 40% profits which makes a soft cover children's book not financially viable through them, even with their 15% promo codes.

Where are people printing their books through that are cost effective but still good quality?

Bonus if Canadian information!

Thanks in advance

Children's Book Printing Options

I'm on the final stages of my first illustrated children's book. For those who have printed your own book, do you have any recommendations for where to have it done through. My first draft copy didn't have great colour matching to the art (although could have been image quality on my part) Bonus if it's a Canadian company.

Thanks in advance

Anyone recognize this cat?

We just found a really sick cat in our yard and are waiting for animal control after hours line to call us back. (If you know of anywhere else we can call, please let me know) The cat has no collar, but wondering if anyone recognizes it. South Nanaimo. Sorry the picture isn't better, but don't want to disrupt it's safe space we finally got it into.

Update: Central Island Emergency Vet - Closed Tried animal control after hours 3 times. Hopefully hear back from them soon. Catnap got back to me and have given me some other vet options.

I'll post whatever solution we find so that others have the information if in the same situation.

Update 2: we had to take her to Fantastic Beasts in Parksville. They were lovely and are going to try and figure out what is wrong with her and check for tattoo amd microchip. They'll contact owners if they find any info, otherwise they'll contact SPCA in the morning.

Thank you to those who gave us more information to get her the help she needs.

Sorry no other pictures, she was curled up so tightly.

Canadian ISBN wait time update

Applied Feb 2nd, still hadn't heard anything. I sent a follow up email to which they said it was sent April 8. Turns out they had a typo in the email address, so I am hoping they will resend it properly now and not make me reapply.

But! That means it's roughly a 2 month wait for an account and they are currently processing March requests.

Hope that helps those of you waiting!

Update: they fixed their mistake and sent me a new link asap, so finally good to go!
