Video recording formats
Hi all,
I need a bit of advice on what format to use. I just got an s9 and am completely stoked on it! I have been trying to figure out which settings to use to take full advantage of the s9's features, but it seems like I have ran into a problem with almost every format. My main use case is basically just small travel videos for myself and my girlfriend. If they ever get posted anywhere, it will probably be on youtube/instagram, so maximum quality/bitrate is not a major concern, but aspect ratio is. I love 3:2. I want to be able to edit my videos using my laptop while I am on the go.
I really like the idea of mp4 lite and having lightweight files I can easily edit on my laptop (surface 15 w/ snapdragon x elite), but Davinci does not like the codec/format of those videos and will refuse to play them until they are converted using handbrake (which takes forever on my laptop) If I switch to the 6k .Mov files, its a bit too much for my laptop to handle and I am forced to edit on my PC instead of being able to edit remotely. Any other setting does not take advantage of open gate! I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions to make the workflow a bit more seamless.
I don't mind changing editing software if that is the answer, but I just want to be able to take videos on my S9, load them onto my laptop, and edit on the go while still taking advantage of open gate, high resolution etc. I appreciate any input you may be able to provide! Thank you!
