Skunk Anansie - Selling Jesus [brit punk rock | 1995]

When it came out, the meaning of this song didn't reach me (English isn't my native language) but the sound and the singer Skin's voice? Immediately under my skin. That she delivered was onb point with my own beliefs was the cherry on the top.

Peripheral byways: Skin & Skunk led me to discover *Me'Shell Ndege Ocello* (trip-hop) then *Erika Badu* (jazz/rnb) while I was at that time more a grungexplorer loyal to goth & punk (*Siouxsie* especially), expe & industrial (*Einstürzende Neubauten*, ) but always attracted by funk pop (*Prince*) and art-pop (*Kate Bush*).

I well never thank Brits enough for the versatily of their production - especially *Killing Joke* (who led me to *AFX*) adventures in the sound scapelands.
