Happy AANHPI Heritage Month! Where has your Asian American journey taken you and where do you want to go?

A note: While I clearly think there is a preferred quadrant to be in, I have existed in all four of these quadrants at different points in my life. And sometimes we are in multiple quadrants concurrently because we exist in many different types of spaces. Also, we don’t get to choose where we start out or how we are raised, so I urge people (and am reminding myself) to use this as a tool for personal discernment rather than for judging others. As with all my frameworks, the intention is to help us clarify what’s going on in our lives and empower us to be the people we actually want to be, rather than getting swept up in the trends and social pressure of oppressive systems.
