Speed paints? Speed paints!

I have been using them lately to do a Death Guard army and clear my back log. I was speed paint curious since they came out. They work ok but the minis are THIRSTY and I feel like it takes more to get the desired result. You also have to spread them fast so they don't settle. (Speed right) I'm assuming because the layer lines. If you really zoom in it does kinda make them noticable but as soon as your table distance away it looks great and saves so much time. I still have my Night Lords I'll buy from GW and spend hours/days on one figure but the speed paints can work. Priming with a thicker Rust-Oleum seems to be key. I will then usually also drybrush. Here's a great unclean one I just finished. I forced myself to be ok with it instead of going back and detailing, edge highlighting, cleaning it up and all that shit. You can do that with them though you just have to let them dry for a few hours or they can reactivate and get sloppy. The only thing here that's not speed paint is the aggrax earth shade I used in the fat folds as well as "Blood for the Blood God" effect and then the paint on the base. Bonus FDM supportless death guard as well. Obviously these are zoomed in but just hold the phone away from your face to get an idea.
