Wanted to clean up the lines a little more but ran out of time in class 😅 Maple leaves and I think dried rush skeleton weed?

I discovered my local grocery was selling banana flowers this morning, which I have no idea how to cook, but was immediately inspired to make ikebana with.

Combined with some nearly dried artichoke flowers I found walking yesterday, and dried jackfruit I'd previously used for an exhibit and then shoved in my closet. Now that I think about it, this arrangement is nearly edible although probably not very tasty.

Loosely inspired by the Bjork song. Smoke tree, dried aspidistria and tulips. The vase was not welded by me, but someone practicing pipe welding threw into the scrap bin. Little did they know, they made an excellent ikebana vase!

Arrangement inspired by mushi forms from the show Mushishi for a Sogetsu exhibit. Used dried jackfruit, rhodondredon, roses and not sure on the green.

I feel like I rarely do mass arrangements, so wanted to play around with them more. It feels so hard to get good space without line! I did also try adding a line to see how that effected it in the second pic.

Question is whether to eat the kale now...
