Did FAST let you down?

Two weeks ago I, M/40 had multiple infarcts:
- left parietal lobe
- posterior left temporal lobe
- bilateral centrum Semiovale
- right pre central gyrus
- right parietal lobe

Thankfully I’ve had no motor skill deficiency, however during the stroke I was unable to read but able to lift my arms, and speak with no issue.

I did a FAST self assessment and since I didn’t have any issues with face droopiness, issues lifting arms, scratch problems I dismissed this as a stroke.

Had I learned BEFAST and included my balance and eyesight in my assessment I likely would have recognized this sooner.

Did anyone else miss their stroke because it didn’t fit neatly in the mnemonic only to find out later they did indeed have one?
