I’m doing a full resto on my whaler and want to sell my 94 mercury xri 200hp. It runs strong and I just did a 25+ mile cruise last weekend. Anyways it’s heavy as shit. I want to sell it with the controls and hydraulic steering.

What do you think the best way to go about that is (not where but how)? Keep it on boat so I can have people come and run it and go for a cruise? My neighbor (and old owner of the whaler) owns a pretty popular outboard shop. Pay him to take it off? Get a quote and point buyers that way if needed? You think someone will have the ability to remove it themselves? I surely have enough mechanical knowledge to do it. Just it’s fucking heavy.
