I'm a survivor since 2019. My PSA prior to surgery was 30ish. My Gleason score was 8. They did the robot surgery thingy and removed the organ. I was lucky. It was all encapsulated within the offending organ with out lymph node involvement. My PSA has been less than .04 since then, except for a scare a couple of months ago due to a lab error. The retest was what it should have been. If I knew what I know now about the lingering side effects, i.e. the leakage, retraction and ED,- would I have had the surgery. YES, you betcha. Life is too short to give up. Do I miss not being able to travel without fear of leaking? Yeah big time! Do I miss enjoying spending quality time to please someone special? Absolutely! However, I am resolute that I can continue to enjoy the time I have left even though a large portion of my wants and desires aren't fulfilled.
