Ameren IL Charge Smart
Weighing the options to stay on the standard Ameren plan, or switch to Charge Smart since we just got our Mach E. Does anyone use Charge Smart and recommend doing it?
For those who don’t know, they credit you 2¢/kWh to charge from 11pm-7am, but they hit you hard (65¢/kWh) during the Non-Preferred time from 11am-7pm.
The kicker is, they don’t separately meter the L2 charger I installed, they monitor whole home usage.
My biggest concern is that my wife works from home, so HVAC is always kept comfortable, computers are being used, and a TV is usually on. On top of that we have 2 fridges, a large upright deep freezer, and 2 dehumidifiers in the basement/crawlspace.
Thanks in advance!
