today I was at the Gandhinagar capital Railway Station and I have been seeing the same type of trains like very trains here and there, but no large scale important destination, trains originating or stopping here and therefore all the investment is made in the infrastructure of the station is not being fruitful and not realising the value of that.
I think many trains should start from this station instead of Ahmedabad, what do you think?
Hi guys, I have seen that there is one gymkhana in Sector 21, where general public can swim, but during the rush hour there are so many people that that it feels very congested. I wanted to know that apart from this do you have any other options where general public can learn swimming?
Hi guys,
This summer its very common to go out for soda after dinner and for us the go to place is mahendra kaka soda at gh-2 and although they have wide variety of soda i personally prefer limbu soda only. Do you guys also go there?
Hi guys, I have been seeing many ads of the weekend Villa across narmada Canal, many rivers as well. Recently seen the zown project by Siddharaj group and the project is looking very nice, but I don’t know whether this kind of investments are worth it or not. Because you can’t actually live there all the time. I’ll probably go three or four times per year so and rest of the time you expect to rent it out to Airbnb that too im unsure whether we can do it legally or not and the ROI doesn’t seem to be that much on paper. Does anyone have any idea?
Finally went to Terra Rossa the other night, and I get the hype but also, I don’t?
The place at night is a proper vibe. Office crowd, lights, breeze, actual parking (rare W in this city). For a second it doesn’t even feel like Gandhinagar.
But here’s where I’m confused:
Dimsums? Surprisingly top-tier. Like, better than some overpriced places in Ahmedabad but Sushi? Meh. Exists. And then… Lotus Stem. Bro what was that? Chewy like rubber. Felt like it came straight from a freezer in 2022.
So now I’m wondering
Are we hyping places for actual food quality anymore, or just for “vibe + reels + something new in GIFT”?
Because honestly, if this exact place opened in a random sector, would anyone care?
Hear me out before you attack 😅
I’ve been noticing this pattern:
• Shops shut early, even on weekends
• Sunday afternoons feel like a complete pause — roads empty, nothing happening
• Limited café culture, especially places where you can just sit for hours
• After 10–11pm, options drop to almost zero
• Even when there are good spots (like GH-4), there’s no hangout vibe
It’s like the city is designed to be comfortable… but not energetic.
Sometimes it feels peaceful.
Sometimes it feels like it kills any spontaneity or hustle.
So genuinely asking —
do you guys feel this “lazy” vibe too?
Or is this just me not exploring enough?
I’m the only earning member in a family of 2. No luxury lifestyle, no EMIs, no big splurges — but still feels like we’re constantly walking on a financial tightrope.
Some months we manage in ~₹40k, some months it goes up to ₹70–80k. And honestly, even then it feels like we’re compromising on basics sometimes.
Here’s a rough yearly breakdown ( All yearly )
Fixed / Essentials:
Rent + maintenance: ₹2.4L (2BHK in Kudasan are for semifurnished flat )
Groceries: ₹90k
Utilities (electricity + internet + mobile): ~₹22k
Gas: ₹3k
House help: ₹24k
Daily life:
commute: ₹13k ( petrol, cabs etc )
Clothes: ₹12k
Household items: ₹50k
Safety / Health:
Medical (incl. insurance): ₹45k
Term insurance: ₹25k
Lifestyle (minimal tbh):
Eating out: ₹17k (can reduce ~₹15k)
Travel (yearly): ₹1L (did one Himalaya trip recently)
Others:
Gifts/unavoidable: ₹10k
Misc: ₹5k
Reality check:
No loans ✔️
No luxury spends ✔️
Still feel financially stretched. Sometimes it genuinely feels like even basic comfort (good food, small freedom) needs second thoughts
Got this opportunity through a local contact:
Location: Ahmedabad Bareja Road. 5-10 minutes from highway!
Plot size: \~2500 sq ft
Price: ₹60 lakh ( 30 cash and 30 Bank )
Nearby transactions: \~₹2200–₹2500/sq ft
Purpose: Either resale in 2–3 years or small warehouse setup
What looks good:
\- Entry price seems below market
\- Area has ongoing and emerging industrial activity
What I’m unsure about:
\- Liquidity in emerging towns(who buys later?)
\- Title / legal risks (not fully verified yet)
\- Whether warehouse yields better ROI vs just holding
If you’ve done land deals in nearby areas then please let me know!
\- What’s the real exit timeline?
\- What hidden risks should I check?
\- Would you take this or pass?
No theory—only real experience needed!
Lately I’ve been going to GH-4 Garden at night — it’s actually a nice spot to just walk around, clear your head, see a few people out. But even that wraps up around 11, and after that you’re kinda left thinking… now what?
Sometimes I end up just driving around or heading towards Kudasan side, but there’s no one “go-to” place that feels consistently alive late at night.
So I’m curious — what’s your usual scene after 10 PM here?
Finally got the first mangoes of the season delivered at home in Gandhinagar 🥭
There’s something different about the first mango yeh excitement, smell and that feeling that summer has officially started.
Abhi fully ripe nahi hai, but the wait makes it even better 😄
Aap logon ne start kiya mango season? Kaunsa favourite hai —Talala ka kesar ya valsad ka hafus ya kuch aur?
Also curious — do you guys buy from local vendors or online these days?
The original sectors of Gandhinagar feel extremely calm — almost too calm — with early closures and limited nightlife Meanwhile, newer areas like Raysan/Kudasan/Randesan are growing like mini urban hubs.
Is this because of the old sector design? Government housing dominance? Or just where the younger crowd is moving?
Are we seeing a shift where ‘New Gandhinagar’ is actually outside the original city? Cause kabhi kabhi night me kuch sectors to bhutiya jagah jaise lagte he.
Tired of the same cafés and malls—any interesting events, pop-ups, or hidden gems worth checking out?”
What’s your plan for the weekend?
Woke up today craving a proper breakfast—something like Mediterranean/continental (sourdough, hummus, falafel, good coffee, maybe a brunch vibe).
But everywhere I look, it’s the same loop: burgers, pizza, vada pav, or standard Gujarati snacks.
Not complaining about those—but is there seriously no place for a good breakfast culture here?
Or am I missing some hidden gems?
Curious what others think—would you even go to a proper brunch café if one existed?
Have you seen this video where hell lots of people are gathered for unveiling a toilet at gh-2? I just can't comprehend how to reach on this!!
Current rates I’m seeing are around ₹38k–₹42k per var ( 1 var = 9 sq ft )
Typical flat size: 250–300 var
Then add:
1)GST (5% on dastavej/deed value )
2)Stamp duty ( 4% on deed value )
3)GUDA charges
4)Maintenance
And on top of that, ~47% goes into common areas
So effectively you’re getting ~1100–1200 sq ft carpet, and total cost easily crosses ₹1 crore+
Projects from builders like Siddharaj Group, Pramukh Group, Dev Vinayak Group, Shikshapatri Group are everywhere But here’s what I don’t understand!
Many flats are lying empty + Resale inventory is available
+ Market feels slow Yet prices are not correcting
So what’s really going on?Are investors still buying? Black money parking? Or are builders just holding supply?
Anyone here who has actually bought recently or trying to buy?
Gandhinagar was never just another city — it was known for its greenery I remember that even in full summers sectors felt breathable. Like roads of gh,ch,kh,chh!!!!!
Now step out in the afternoon and it feels completely different. More concrete, fewer trees, less shade… and the heat hits harder infact you can’t even walk properly on road due to heat.
Development is happening everywhere — roads, buildings, projects but it feels like we’re losing the one thing that made this city special.
It’s slowly starting to feel less like Gandhinagar and more like just another hot city.
Are you guys noticing the same change or is this just in my head? Which areas in Gandhinagar have lost the most greenery in the last 5–10 years? I am thinking about outer Gandhinagar.
Visited recently and had mixed feelings. ( until now I didn’t even know Gandhinagar had TAJ hotel )
The outer architecture is actually quite unique (almost Roman-style), but once you step inside, it feels… average?
Also, the location in Limbodara village feels too disconnected from the city (15+ kilometre from gandhinagar ) and the surroundings don’t really match what you’d expect from a premium Taj property.
What surprised me most — the vibe. It didn’t have that typical Taj-level energy or footfall. Felt a bit empty / out of place.
Is it just me or is this property not living up to the Taj name yet?
Since last few years many big names are coming in Gift city like SBI Hq, World Trade centre and many more but Lilavati Hospital is something of its own color.
I live 5 km away from Gift city and has seen the actual footfall of people around Gandhinagar and I genuinely think lots of people from Ahmedabad and surrounding cities will be brought here for world class facilities offered by hospital and may increase gift City's value!
Par time lagega :)
