Today i went to a customer that asked if we could take a look to one of their laser welding machines, we were informed that they need to try to splice a replacement part.
That was pretty much all the info we get. I tried to explain them that we work in comunication field, not in their industry, and that most probably wont be able to perform such work, the client insisted so we went there anyways.
I was worried about any posible light leak in the splice, some defect that might break the machine with any back reflexion or so. It is a 3000w laser welder!
welp, i took a picture of the welding fiber compared to a SM one. The cleaver struggled sooo hard to even make that nasty cut. And of course the 90s could not perform the splice, not even close xD. She was not ready for that girth!!!!!!!
