Advice on audition and show commitment

Hi everyone, I used to do a lot of theater in high school and college and I am trying to get back into it as a young adult. I auditioned for a musical at a local theatre company that has people I know involved in it and I didn’t get a role. I am now looking at different local theaters and have a couple auditions that have been presented to me. I am hoping to do a couple of the auditions and they’re all around similar times next month. I was also offered a chance to audition for a production with openings in which the director contacted me personally. I am wondering if anyone has any advice about making commitments to different shows. I assume that when I audition for multiple roles, I can decide which one I would like to accept, because I assume that the rehearsals will overlap. I am struggling to gather different opportunities and say no to some, but I also want to audition as many places as I can so I have plenty of options and ensure I may be able to commit to at least one. Is there a certain way to navigate this? I need to reach out to that director and don’t want him to be waiting, but I am unsure if that opportunity is my priority since I have limited information about it. I hope that makes sense. Thank you!
