[FREE] PluginScore - a free WordPress plugin health checker
Hi everyone,
We’ve launched PluginScore, a free tool for checking WordPress plugin health before installing a plugin on a site.
You can search for a WordPress.org plugin slug and PluginScore generates an automated report looking at signals such as:
• Security checks
• Known vulnerability indicators
• WordPress.org readiness
• Performance indicators
• Code quality signals
• Accessibility checks
• General plugin health
The idea is to give WordPress users, WooCommerce store owners, agencies and developers a better starting point than just looking at active installs, star ratings and the “last updated” date.
PluginScore is not a guarantee that a plugin is safe, perfect or bug-free. Automated checks have limits and manual review still matters. The goal is to provide useful public signals that help users make more informed decisions before adding another plugin to a live website.
It is free to use and users can search/add plugin slugs now.
You can try it here:

I’d really appreciate feedback from plugin users and developers: What checks or data points would you want to see before installing a WordPress plugin?
Update:
We’ve pushed an update to PluginScore to fix the scan buttons.
After launch, we found a few issues affecting the button behaviour, especially on mobile, and those have now been resolved.
PluginScore is still in an early/startup state, so feedback is genuinely appreciated. The aim is to keep improving the scoring, reporting, transparency and overall user experience based on what WordPress users and plugin authors find useful.
Thanks to people who has tested it, raised issues and shared feedback so far. It really does help improve the project.
