I’m wondering if anyone knows of any middle grade books that are similar in style/content to Dungeon Crawler Carl. I think my video game-obsessed kiddo would really enjoy something like that, but obviously DCC is not appropriate for him. He knows of the Minecraft and Roblox books, but those aren’t his style of game so he didn’t get into them.

Edit: My definition of “middle grade” may be off - I’ve always thought it meant upper elementary/pre-teen. My kiddo is 9yo, and while he has a reading level above that, we struggle to find content that isn’t super heavy and full of romance (which he hates).

I love pocket notebooks, but I really struggle with actually using them. I am a stay-at-home parent and the most boring person in the world, so the standard to-do lists, calendars, and journals don’t work for me in this format. What are some of your unique and creative notebook uses?

I’m going to be painting my LFL (hopefully) this year, and I’m wondering what kinds of paints you’ve found success with. My idea is fairly ambitious, and I don’t know if I can just use regular acrylic craft paint or if I need something more like house paint. Do I need to seal it to protect it from the elements? I live in the northern Midwest US, so we get all kinds of weather. Thanks a bunch!
