Jimny for me?
I have a great opportunity to get a 3 door jimny for a great price. I wonder, however, it it makes sense for me.
I do love that I would be able to handle rough roads and off-road, but I wouldn't make use of this that often. I mainly want a car for long distance road trips, and I hear the jimny is not ideal for this. Apparently it drives a bit awkwardly in the wind and struggles with the weak engine. Also, I plan to rent my car out to tourists occasionally. These guys will want to stuff it full 3-4 people and drive across the country- a very windy, hilly, and warm country I am in. I understand that the jimny would be a tight squeeze, and Im less concerned about this. Im more worried about the jimny being able to handle this kind of weight. Is it bad for a jimny to load it full and go far up a hill in the wind? Would it be pushing it over the edge?
My other option is a good old Volkswagen Polo... the engine being stronger. But I just have such a great deal on the table for the jimny, and it is such a stylish little car! Will I regret it? Would my intentions for it be abusing it?
