How come Andy Rourke isn't a bigger deal?
Andy Rourke was a fantastic bassist. It seems to me that his sound was just as intrinsic to the smiths as Johnny Marr's guitar playing. But Marr gets the outsized hero worship, and I don't really see nearly as much said about Rourke even after his passing. They're both kickass and one doesn't really work without the other in the sound of the Smiths. Does it have to do with Marr and Morrissey's public feud and the 'lore' surrounding those two? Is there something that I'm missing?
