NSD Mikawa Shiro Nagura Koma
A BIG koma at 235 x 80 x 40mm. Got it from a friend who got it from a sword polisher in Japan. Pretty easy to use and fast cutting.

On the left is an Ohira Awasedo at 20.7 x 7.5x 4.8cm. Feels quite hard (about 5) but amazingly smooth feeling and fast cutting.
The other one is an Okudo Kuro Renge Suita at 24.1 x 7.8 x 2.6cm. Hardness around 4.5 but feels like a softer stone when using. Semi-mirror finish.
Steel: 1084 + 15N20 Weight: 216 grams Height: 51.87 mm Taper: 3.58 - 2.72 - 1.18 mm Blade length: 237 mm
My first Xinguo knife and the grind and finish are amazing as that is what they are known for. Looks quite beautiful 😍
Ayyyy new stone days back to back.
From left to right, it’s a Nakayama Tomae hardness 4/5, followed by a Ohira Renge Suita hardness 4.5/5, then a Mikawa Atsu Nagura (used by a sword polisher) followed by some small naguras. Can’t wait to test them out!
My first Nakayama tomae. Pretty standard size of 188x77x33mm, weighs around 1100grams.
Mokume pattern on one side and madara on the other so both sides can be used.
Feels like a 4.5ish stone, the polishing outcome is a half mirror finish.
Ayyy another Kato, this is an old Kato from JNS, made out of mystery steel? I asked around and some people said it’s vintage White#1 some said it’s White#2 so if anyone can shed some light it would be appreciated!
Heel to tip: 249 mm Height: 51.4 mm Weight: 251 grams Taper: 4.84-2.84-0.68mm
Hi everyone, I am looking to buy a few jnats and was wondering where do majority of you guys get your jnats from. I am located in the US.
Thank you!
240mm Wrought iron clad with Apex Ultra core
Got it from his most recent drop and got cucked by important duties 🥲. Does feel lighter than my other hardent’s, a solid mid weight laser at 189g.
This one is made in White #1 (Shirogami #1)
Always wanted to see what the Kato hype is all about and finally able to get one of them. To be honest, I do find the finish to be somewhat primitive but I guess that’s the special part about these🥵🥵
Thicccc piece at 287grams. Cuts like a mini axe
Blue #2 probably?
I do find the pattern to be more appealing than his standard kitaeji gyutos.

I've been chasing this one for a while, and it finally landed. A 240mm gyuto by Shoichi Hashimoto, coming in at around 280g. The blade is a 2,760-layer Damascus forged from a blend of six different steels: Aogami 1 and 2, Shirogami 1 and 2, plus two others. The pattern is absolutely stunning.
This knife has been sitting on my unicorn list for a long time, and I'm thrilled to finally have it in hand. Worth the wait.
