My question is about the safety of using beer growler type jugs for the canning of ciders and juices. I know you can purchase commercial juices in this style jug and can get new lids. Is it safe to use for canning of ciders (sweet not hard) in these containers (1/2 gallon or smaller) or should I stick to the 1/2 gallon mason jars?
