[16 YoE, English Instructor, Public School ESOL Teacher, United States]

Hi everyone. I've been working in education for more than 15 years, but never taught public school in America. I've taught at universities here, but I want to move into public school. I've been applying to ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) positions in a medium-sized city in America, but out of 18 schools, I have only received 1 response and it was a pass.

Can anyone with public school experience provide feedback on how my resume reads and whether I should change the language that would work better for elementary, middle, or high schools? Thanks!

The algorithm is so confusing...

I hope everyone's great! Just a quick rant... I've been teaching on italki for 8 years and I still haven't quite figured out the algorithm. It's been difficult for me to fill up my schedule since January. For context, I teach on the platform full-time, usually between 30-35 hours a week and have been doing this fairly consistently for all 8 years. And then today, I got 4 trial lesson requests within the span of 3 hours. Obviously my profile got boosted for some reason, but I wonder if other teachers out there have had similar experiences.
