Do I give up?
So it’s near the end of the holidays ready to go back to term 4 and I’ve been having panic attacks and sheer dread at the idea of going back to term 4. I love the dynamic of being in front of a class, both good and bad ones, but it’s all the extra I am not coping with. The data collection (which I am not very good at) the extra duties, and the stress and overwhelming feeling of constantly being behind on some or all important tasks (such as exam prep and marking).
To note, I had been casual for a few years with conditional approval before finishing my degree (a bad idea) and even picked up a contract for 18 months teaching in my area, before finally graduating and miraculously getting offered a permanent position at a different school.
The school admin, my HOD have been really great and supportive, but my staffroom is high achievers, and I really am not keeping up despite their support.
I have a family to support, which makes things even harder to step back from and haven’t the faintest idea what I could even jump to if I decided to leave.
Any advice what I could do?
