How did everyone choose a law firm?

I read so many horror stories of these law firms that are slow playing everything, no communication. I choose Hurley after clicking a link they had advertising BSA abuse case. I did some due diligence and found they where representing at the time 8k scouts. Are these smaller law firms that only representing 1k or so less reliable. i just don't understand why so many having issues. Yes I am not happy with the 40% but as least they have communicated to us day 1 and for must part have been transparent. Not to say I told ya so but why choose these firms that might have bad google , yelp reviews, or track record.

How many on here where actually not abused?

I wonder how many of the 59k where in the Boy Scouts, had proof they belonged to a Troop but where not actually abused. I bet at least 50% of claims where fraudulent, either exaggerated or totally made up. They just clicked on the link years ago and filled it out. I always thought they should have weeded more out. Its evidence of abuse not evidence of just being a Scout. I think I am right about this. For example you have a Troop history of 2k boys in 10 years, and only 1 claim of that. Usually if there abuse there will be many others of same troop. like 10-20 of the 2k. But to say 59k where abused is crazy. I bet the real number is 20k-30k. Scout masters and adult leaders would prey on a few, usually weaker ones from 1 parent families or dysfunctional families. For real 59k is a huge number, come on. Mine is legit and did not exaggerate. I feel bad for the ones who where top tier abused. Mine was mild and I had major issues my whole life. SM actually served time. I wish there way to void at least 25% of these 59k so top tier can actually get most of there money and live a better life
