I was told by my recruiter that if I oath in ASAP I will be next in line for a Pararescue contract and have a very high chance of shipping in the September ship date. He told me that I would be given a several week notice once I secured a contract before my ship date and that I do not secure a contract at MEPs after oathing in? My worry is that once I am apart of the Delayed Entry Program without a contract in hand the Air Force can task me to any job now that I committed to Air Force Service. Is this waiting period in the DEP without a contract in hand normal for all SPECWAR candidates and is there any way to push for a contract signing at MEPs? Thank you
