Oh where oh where my shorts fell off? Oh where oh where can they be?

Anyone seen those? Lately?

Couple weeks ago a lot were prancing and dancing. One wise (among the shorts) had even mentioned that they will get out of here AFTER they “break even” but had warned about some blah blah blah.

All that when seen against Buffett’s “this sucker isn’t going anywhere” is quite interesting.

Specially, as the SpaceX rocket is experiencing (un)expected pull of gravity…. May be the stars aren’t linked that strongly either ;-)

And then we have Buffett’s words (with tongue in cheek) that he will continue to work for five years after his death!!

Enjoy the ride fellows, while it lasts ;-)

Can the trolls and tourists sell and move on?

Nope, they won’t !! They are around to trash this stock but they won’t short it either.

It’s a sheer waste of time.

SEC proposed to remove “best price” rules

https://www.reddit.com/r/investing/s/9JRVBSIUJ5

SEC is requesting public comments within 60 days to drop 2005 rules that protected retail investors.

I suggest we discuss this on this or the linked sub. I will try my best to collect best comments and repost those later.

SEC’s 267 page document describes the belly of the beast to some extent. I would love to see support for their numbers specifically about how dropping these rules will “benefit” retail investors - whose orders are already devoured by the PFOF monsters.

Scrapping the “best price” Rules

SEC is now proposing to scrap 2005 rules that forced trading platforms to ensure best prices for
retail investors.

According to BetterMarkets (a non-profit) scrapping these rules will hurt retail investors. Retail investors need to post their comments within 60 days.

Following is the link to BetterMarkets pdf

Following is the WSJ gift link of the SEC news. Notice that the wording does NOT indicate how these rules will hurt retail investors.

SEC proposal link is below. It’s a 267 page document. Intro starts at page 78!! After Paper Reduction Act 😂😂

To understand the guts of the markets and SEC’s core evidence of why these rules are hurting, take a look at the “Economics” sections in details.

Near end of that discussion on Berkshire’s recent buys

Sekera: Yeah, I mean, you can’t be any more of a value stock than buying into Berkshire Hathaway. It’s a 4-star-rated stock that trades at a 7% discount. Now, a 7% discount may not necessarily sound like that much, but you have to remember, I think a third of their portfolio is in cash. Cash is always worth 100 cents on the dollar. So, the way I look at this is that 7% discount really should be attributed mostly to the private equity portfolio that they own. That tells me you’re buying that private equity portfolio at a much larger discount.

Trolls - Go Short This Stock!! 😂

What clueless mgmt puts Messi’s tattoos on Duracell batteries

When will Greg learn that batteries - specially the AA, AAA and D - are a thing of the past?

Only Buffett and Abel must be using the old remotes. They need upgrade to Elonish Musky tatteries or just fold up and let redditors manage the portfolio 😂 specially the cash part of it 😂

Time to short this stock - and ride to Mars!! yippee!!

So quiet here 😂

Where did all experts and worry worts go?

Who’s gonna teach Greg how to manage the share price every hour now?

Come on - let’s get a press release out that BRK is safe.. or not.

$18b deployed in 2 days at BRK hit ratio

Press release dates are usually the last thing - before court approvals etc. Yes, Warren is on the record for doing deals at handshake speed, but may be the GOOGL deal wasn't so high speed? Clearly, Google had access to debt, and banks. So didn't need a discount sale for Buffett signature.

In any case, it's nice to see the earlier tight lipped deal policies continue - did anyone spot Sundae flying to Omaha for Dairy Queen Sundae this Sunday? Nope 😂

It will be lovely to see Q2 2026 dropping 20-30 billions on Charlie's favourite, and Buffett's not-so stock in the market 😂

😂 Buffett/Abel 👎 Home Builders 👍

Funny to see media and renters suddenly realizing that Home Builder stocks are a deal because of “Berkshire seal of approval”

At the same time thumbing down Buffett and Abel for - all kinds of reasons.

This can go on for years. All those years are sweet welcome with a red carpet 😂

Greg butting heads with Elon over StarLink because of Delta purchase?? How clueless is this headline…

Read an article which insinuates that buying a slug of Delta, Greg is now butting heads against Elon.

That article has a copy pasta of Elon’s crybaby xweet as to why Delta didn’t choose StarLink and went with Amazon. Blah Blah.

That was probably 3 lines in a 40+ line article. With rest filled about all praise of StarLink.

Come on… spare us such exaggerated headlines.

Important to note such trolling journos so you can skip them next time.

Sorry, no links. Don’t want to drive their traffic.

And their friends ;-) provided they act like landlords and not renters..

I am guessing, at minimum, BRKC (yeah the YieldMax ETF) is about to go through some serious trouble with the upcoming roller coaster in this old dog - once it starts hunting…

Why not just run more efficiently?

Buffett has collected businesses that are loosely coupled - through economic cycles, and yet sustain pricing power through mgmt mishaps.

The mgmt is focused on using technology appropriately- including AI.

If you believe that, then why not just keep allocating money to the subsidiaries at 15% hurdle rate, then hold them to the results over five years.

Just that should bump book value at 7-9% year. At minimum. Add another 10% of cash towards buyback at most opportune points.

Why get too complicated? Obviously, don’t get complacent but why should Greg take risky bets?
