Thrip-like insect colony on fungal complex growing on Acer palmatum
Hi there! Arborist here in NYC, a coworker found this insane colony of insects, possibly a thrip(?) on a Japanese Maple today. Are these two the same species? I’d appreciate any thoughts! Thank you 🙏
