I have a question. For example, at EUIPO (Alicante), their website says that permanent AD officials can only be recruited through an EPSO selection process (exam). However, I’ve read in some places that it is possible (and more common) to join as a temporary agent and, after having your contract renewed twice, become permanent.

Is there anyone here who is a permanent AD in an EU agency who could share how they got their position, and whether they know of colleagues or others who followed a similar path?
