Adobe Creative Cloud, Acrobat install and updates

Hey all - How are you deploying Adobe Creative Cloud, with Adobe Acrobat? Are you wrapping them as Win32 Apps and pushing them out? As Adobe documentation suggests. How are you handling Adobe updates? We are using PMPC (Intune) for this, which just pushes Acrobat. We are seeing more and more MSI Installer events/errors in the workstation event logs, with almost all of them related to Adobe Acrobat, which is already installed but is trying to install again, then failing because the logged-in user doesn't have admin rights. I am curious how others are handling this?

MacOS - Slack App Updates On Standard User Devices?

Hi all, we have several MacOS devices that are supervised and managed through Intune, with Entra ID and Platform SSO. All users are standard users, not admins. We are deploying most of our applications via Intune or Patch My PC. We continue to run into issues with Slack.

Slack is being pushed through PMPC + Intune, which installs perfectly, with no real issues. However, every other week, our Mac users have to log a support ticket to update the Slack app because it requires Admin credentials to install the new update.

"An update is ready to install. Slack is trying to add a new helper tool. Enter an administrator's name and password to allow this."

We don't have issues with any other application, just Slack. How are you handling this error? Having our users log a case every other week or elevating them permanently is not either. Is it possible to have it installed via Intune without requiring admin rights to update? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Cove Backup - What are your Retention and RPO Policies?

Hi all - we recently moved clients to N-able Cove Backup to consolidate tools, but we’re seeing consistent endpoint performance issues. Users on newer machines (i7, 32GB, 1Tb SSD) are reporting stuttering, input lag, and apps freezing during the day.

Logs show repeated VSS errors (0x800423f2, shadow copy timeouts, “provider timed out holding writes”), and backups frequently finish as CompletedWithErrors or Failed. We originally had mapped drives (Google Drive / ShareFile) in scope — removed those, which helped a bit, but we’re still seeing disk contention and VSS instability during backup windows. Most endpoints are backing up ~80GB+ with large file counts.

For those running Cove at scale, how are you configuring endpoints to minimize user impact? Are you limiting to specific folders (Documents/Desktop vs full profiles), what exclusions are you using, and are you applying throttling or strict off-hours scheduling?

Feels like Cove is a bit too aggressive on active endpoints, trying to dial this in without sacrificing backup reliability. Appreciate your help!
